A few days ago, I started talking about search engine optimisation. There’s one web development company in Zimbabwe that’s actually doing some things right in this regard. Their name is Webdev and, yes they are our competition but it’s a big sky and there’s room enough for every bird to fly, so we WILL mention them by name.

We have been working on search engine optimisation for Zimbabwe’s leading online restaurant guide, www.eatout.co.zw, and it’s yielding some major dividends.
Search engine optimisation is the art and science of making a website search engine friendly so that it ranks highly in searches for particular terms. So, for instance, if you have a website about Toyota Prados, you’ll want your site to come up near the top when someone does a search for “Toyota Prados” on Google (or Bing or Yahoo, etc).
